Uttaranchal Hospital and Diagnostic Centre (UHDC) and Uttaranchal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) of Uttaranchal University, Dehradun held a Free Health Check-up Camp in Hariyawala Kalan Village, Sahaspur, Dehradun, as part of the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) initiative and commitment of a significant movement towards promoting community welfare. This initiative’s main goals were to address the local community’s healthcare needs and increase public awareness of the importance of making preventative healthcare plans. The occasion highlighted Uttaranchal University’s dedication to social responsibility and its overarching goal of promoting sustainable development.
The university, in keeping with its commitment to community development, adopted Hariyawala Kalan Village, where a comprehensive health camp spanning a range of medical specializations was held. During the free camp, the university’s various experts—doctor Sonali (ENT), doctor Hemlata (PK), doctor Preeti (MO), doctor Satvinder Kaur (MO), doctor Dipanshu Kaushik (EMO), hospital administrator Mr. Chandra Mohan, nursing staff members Priyanshu Kaushik and Nikita, lab assistant Mr. Amit Pundir, pharmacists Mr. Ganesh, Mr. Madhav, & Mr. Neeraj Upadhyay, pharmacologists Mr. Ayush Dangwal, Ms. Sonali, and chief marketing managers Mr. Rohit Mathur and Mr. Rajnish Agarwal—all offered their free medical consultations and services to the patients. At the health camp, more than 170 people from the village of Hariyawala Kalan took advantage of the free access to basic medical services and consultations with experts. The community’s general well-being was much improved by the Free Health Check-up camp, which is in keeping with the goals of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, which supports equitable and sustainable development in rural areas.

Students from Uttaranchal University’s Law College Dehradun (LCD) presented a Nukkad Natak at this camp to inform the nearby people about the risks associated with drug usage. In addition, they presented a motivational play with the theme “Say No to Drugs,” directed by Mr. Amit Choudhary, Assistant Professor, LCD, and Mr. Abhiranjan Dixit, Assistant Professor & Coordinator-Pro Bono Club.
Dr. Amit Bhatt, Campus Director of Uttaranchal University, Ms. Rajni Devi, Gram Pradhan of Hariyawala Kalan, Mr. Mohanlal Sharma, a Social Worker from Hariyawala Kalan, Ms. Abha Nautiyal and Ms. Rajnish Agarwal, local residents, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, UBA coordinator, Dr. Ravi Joshi KC, Principal of UHDC, Dr. Vikash Jakhmola, Dean of UIPS, Mr. Dheeraj Bisht, Public Relations Officer, Dr. Atin Kumar, Assistant Professor (SOA), Mr. Sunil Prakash, Assistant Professor (SOA), administrative staff including Mr. Sanatan, Mr. Sameer, and other faculty members and university officials guided the entire event. This successful project demonstrates Uttaranchal University’s unwavering dedication to social responsibility and its promise to support local sustainable development.
