UPES Dehradun is the abbreviation for the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. The UPES Act of 2003 served as the foundation for the university. UPES is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and has been accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has a “A” grade from the NAAC for accreditation. UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli are two expansive 44-acre campuses located in Dehradun. UPES is ranked 52 for the University and 79 overall in the NIRF 2023 rankings.

Through its seven schools—the School of Engineering, the School of Computer Science, the School of Design, the School of Law, the School of Business, the School of Health Sciences, and the School of Modern Media—UPES provides more than twenty industry-aligned and specialized UG and PG programs. The flagship curriculum, available in 20 specializations, is UPES B.Tech. The university’s JEE Main or UPESEAT exam is used to determine who gets into the B.Tech program. The program costs INR 15.21 lakhs in total. The MBA program at the university is likewise quite well-liked. Based on CAT/XAT/MAT/UPESMET, candidates are admitted to the UPES MBA program.
