It is run by Dr. A. K. Saxena, Ex-Chief scientist of CSIR-CDRI (Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow) and head of the Krishna Memorial Trust the governing body of GIPER. Dr. Saxena is a legendary figure in the field of drug discovery research in India. The institute offers a Diploma in Pharmacy (2 years), Bachelor in Pharmacy (4 years), and Master in Pharmacy (2 years) in Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry stream which is approved by AICTE and PCI, New Delhi.
GIPER is the first pharmacy institution in India which had organize an International Seminar on Pharmaceutical Education and Research (ISPER) attended by eminent scientists and researchers from the USA, Germany, Italy, Russia, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Canada, etc. in its first year of establishment in 2010.
