The college is regarded as a leading centre for higher education. The college is a UGC Centre with Potential for Excellence and has received NAAC certification. The college has created a special record by consistently earning several merit positions and producing great university results. The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, awards around 225 students with INSPIRE scholarships worth Rs. 80,000 annually.

Top-tier students in the area choose the college first. The college cut-off for the B.Sc. General Course in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 2018 was 87%, which is comparable to some of the greatest science colleges in the nation and shows that the college is successfully maintaining its position as one of the best within the University.
